Why learn Slovene?
- Be part of a small community of roughly 2.5 million speakers worldwide, who welcome enthusiastically every new member willing to learn the language.
- Speak the language similar to the languages of the neighbouring Croatia and other Balkan countries. Learning a South Slavic language will be a good starting point for travelling to this part of Europe and getting familiar with their languages.
- Express yourself in one of the few languages with a special form referring to two people – in addition to singular and plural we also have dual. Inviting someone for a drink will be much less ambiguous in Slovene than it is in English.

Lessons are recorded, which allows you to watch them afterwards in case you do not have time to go to class or just want to revise everything you have learned.
PRACTICAL
The courses are designed with the aim to satisfy the language needs necessary for working and studying in Slovene.
- Language knowledge and competences:
- - basic vocabulary and sentence patterns for daily communication
- - simple text comprehension
- - the ability to take part in simple conversations – asking and answering questions about general everyday situations;
- - the ability to write short and simple texts
- Language knowledge and competences:
- - the ability to understand the main points of clear standard input on familiar matters regularly encountered in work, school, leisure, etc
- - the ability to deal with most situations likely to arise while travelling in an area where the language is spoken
- - the ability to describe experiences and events, dreams, hopes and ambitions and briefly give reasons and explanations for opinions and plans
- - the ability to produce text on topics that are familiar or of personal interes
- B1-B2 level according to CEFR (level that allows studying and working in Slovene language).
